The Evidence-Based Practices Committee promotes the planning, implementation, and maintenance of evidence-based practices in Austin/Travis County through research, awareness, and training/education.

Research

Through a partnership with a class at the University of Texas School of Social Work, the A/TCRRT commissioned studies into best practices related to reentry.

In 2006, the Evidence-Based Practices Committee undertook a survey of service providers working with the reentry population in Travis County to gather information on available programs and services.

Awareness

The Evidence-Based Practice Committee produced a document to answer frequently asked questions (FAQ) on the use of evidence-based practices in the field of criminal justice.

Community Action Network has a document that answers frequently asked questions about evidence-based practice.

Training/Education

The Evidence Based Practices Committee sponsors trainings for reentry professionals.
