We are thrilled to share the Roundtable’s new strategic plan, adopted by the Planning Council in September after 4 months of hard work. The new strategic plan offers an updated mission and vision for the Roundtable, as well as clarity about the group’s focus on engaging diverse stakeholders impacted by reentry; convening dialogue and critical conversations; advocating to support institutional and public policy change, and partnering to broaden our impact.
The plan outlines four primary goals for the Roundtable over the next five years:
- Engaging the community to better understand the impacts of incarceration and successful reentry on Travis County;
- Promoting solutions that assist individuals involved in the justice system to navigate their situation by limiting incarceration if possible and supporting their reentry if necessary;
- Eliminating unnecessary collateral consequences and social stigma that impede reintegration and increase the likelihood of recidivism; and
- Strengthening organizational capacity to support the Roundtable’s strategic goals.
